Patients Featured on WCPO/Channel 9A New You Head to ToeMason, Ohio January 5, 2005... Angela Colwell will be featured on WCPO/Channel 9's program A New You Head to Toe on January 18, 2005 at 8:00p.m. Angela recently underwent a smile makeover designed by Debra McIntosh, D.M.D. Angela Colwell, a full-time student and Occupational Therapist, had always been unhappy with her smile. "I never smiled at people or in pictures," said Angela. At her wedding Angela did not smile because she was bothered by the gaps between her teeth. "I look back and wish I could redo my wedding photos," Angela stated. She had worn braces twice during grade school to correct the spaces, but both times proved unsuccessful. "Braces straighten teeth but do not position them correctly," explained Dr. McIntosh. "Angela's lower teeth were fine," continued McIntosh. "She had an overbite... her teeth flared out a bit and they were square shaped." After visiting other cosmetic dentists, Angela felt at home when she came to Dr. McIntosh's office. For the first time she was asked to explain what she wanted and she was impressed with the personal and attentive care. "I listen to patients to see what they want and encourage them to bring a friend or family member to the consultations ensuring they understand all that is involved in the process of redesigning a smile," said McIntosh. Angela would call Dr. McIntosh regularly with questions before making a decision. She felt special that Dr. McIntosh was always there for her. Dr. McIntosh redesigned Angela's smile using porcelain veneers on her upper teeth. She moved her teeth back into position and made them round and more feminine. Today she has a gorgeous new smile that has changed her life. "I am so happy to help Angela feel confident about her smile," said Dr. McIntosh. "I have waited years for this," Angela said with excitement. "I have to remind myself to smile. I love my big radiant smile. My self-esteem has improved. I love it," exclaimed Angela. |
