Dr. McIntosh and Staff Team Up for Race for the Cure

Mason, Ohio July 17, 2006... Dr.McIntosh's dental practice announced today the launch of their office campaign to raise money for The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Race for the Cure. The Race is in its ninth year and will be held Sunday, September 10, 2006 at the Mason Community Campus in Mason, Ohio. Dr. McIntosh is sponsoring a team and encouraging staff, their families and patients to join the fight.

In addition, on the day of the Race, Dr. McIntosh will sponsor The Komen Kafe for breast cancer survivors from 7am to 10am. "Breast cancer has affected my family as well as the families of my staff," explains Debra McIntosh, DMD. "We are committed to supporting the efforts of the Susan G. Komen Greater Cincinnati Affiliate and look forward to a successful Race" concludes McIntosh.

In September 2005, Dr. McIntosh partnered with the Komen Greater Cincinnati Affiliate to raise awareness and contribute financially to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation through the "Smiles for a Cause" program. Each time a patient refers a friend or family member, Dr. McIntosh donates $25 to the foundation in both names. "We are truly honored that Dr. McIntosh and her staff have chosen Komen Greater Cincinnati to be the beneficiary of their "Smiles for a Cause" program," says Amy Isenogle with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. "It is through partnerships like this that we can extend our life-saving message of early detection," concludes Isenogle.

The Komen Greater Cincinnati Race for the Cure has grown from 3,700 participants to over 12,000. Over $2.5 million has been raised to support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment. The goal for 2006 is to have 15,000 participants and to raise $500,000 in pledges and registration fees.
