Marsha

Condition

Marsha repeatedly had endoscopies and colonoscopies thinking she had a gastrointestinal illness; not realizing that her inability to chew food properly was the source of her health problems. She presented with a class 3 occlusion, (an under bite) and missing teeth which interfered with her ability to chew food; therefore, she experienced problems digesting food. In addition, the missing teeth altered her facial features and Marsha was not happy with her appearance.

Procedure

Dr. McIntosh discussed the options to correct Marsha’s bite (occlusion) and referred her to an orthodontist to straighten her teeth with braces and prepare her for orthonathic surgery (surgery to have her jaw resected). Marsha had dental implants and bridges done to replace the missing teeth. She had crowns and veneers on her upper teeth to give her a brighter and fuller smile.

Today Marsha smiles and talks with confidence, unashamed of showing all her teeth. All of her missing teeth have been restored and she is able to chew her food properly.

“Words can’t describe how my smile has changed my life, I never smiled with my teeth, I always had a closed smile, and I was always so envious of those that had a beautiful smile. Now I’m one of them. Thank-you Dr. McIntosh for helping me to take the plunge into this wonderful journey.”
